Tuesday Laundry Day

Usually I don't wash my clothes on a tuesday. Instead I would bring my bag of dirty laundry home over the weekend so my mom can wash them. To save some money, it's cheaper to do it here in my studenthome where it's 2 euro for a washingmachine and the dryer is for free. However it isn't as easy as it sounds.

First of all, luck should be on your side. We have 2 washing and dryingmachines for a building where approximately 300 students live. Perfect timing, or just good luck, is all you need! I guess I was just lucky. unfortunately,my luck didn't last for the entire washing process. When I came back to pick up the washed clothes, there was no drying machine available. I had to find a solution for that.

Usually when this sort of thing happens, I borrow a drying rack from my neighbour, but she wasn't in the building for another 4 hours or so. I had to think of something and this is what I found.

It's an old and cut bed spread. I cut a 'rope' out of it. This rope will be used as a drying line. Here in the building it's also prohibited to spike some needles in the wall. This of course would make it easier to attach the rope to. Again I had to think of something to make it possible.

I tied the rope to a little wooden nightstand, then to a lamp on the wall, a closet hole and a hanger that was placed it the closet.
And this is the result.

In the meantime I did some homework instead of cleaning, what I should be doing. But moving around with all the wet socks and underwear poking in my face, makes it hard to clean the whole litttle room.

This is what I went through just to dry my clothes! haha
